Stuart Turner Group celebrates The Queen’s landmark milestone by partnering The Tree Council as a Jubilee Partner

Stuart Turner is excited to announce that they joined forces with national environmental charity The Tree Council as a Jubilee Partner for The Queen’s Green Canopy.

Collectively as part of a team of 70 green-hearted corporate partners, Stuart Turner will support the planting of an incredible 35,000 trees and 7 kilometres of hedgerow across the UK.

Here at Stuart Turner we have been investing a lot of time into reviewing our current processes to evaluate ways in which we can be more considerate to the environment as a company. Our main motivators for doing so are not only to contribute to the safety of our staff, but to also improve our services in a more sustainable way.

The Queen’s Green Canopy is a special tree planting initiative to celebrate The Queen’s history-making 70 years of service to the nation by encouraging people all across the UK to ‘Plant a tree for the Jubilee’. The programme launched in October 2021 and will run until the end of the Jubilee planting season in 2023. It focuses on planting sustainably, particularly in disadvantaged neighbourhoods, to create an environmental and cultural legacy in honour of the Queen’s leadership and to mark the longest reign of any British monarch in history.

The Tree Council’s Jubilee Partner programme brings companies together to plant trees and enhance treescapes across the UK. Community groups, schools and volunteer Tree Warden Networks (www.treecouncil.org.uk/tree-wardens) will apply for funding to deliver a community tree and hedgerow planting project in their own local community during the tree planting season. All planting will be featured on The Queen’s Green Canopy online map (www.queensgreencanopy.org/map-education-hub/).

Sara Lom, CEO, The Tree Council said: “We are delighted to partner with Stuart Turner to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee while doing something truly wonderful for nature. Trees and hedgerows help tackle climate change, provide homes for wildlife, improve our health and wellbeing and so much more. By getting involved, Stuart Turner is helping to grow a greener, tree-filled future for all of us. We’re so grateful to Stuart Turner and all our Jubilee Partners.”
